Same Old Story, Brand New Beginning

Same Old Story, Brand New Beginning

Well this is strange. A Daily Dose of Holly is making her 2020 debut?

For anyone who happened to step foot on my page recently looking for content, apologies, you would have been met with ‘NOTHING FOUND. Sorry, We can’t find that page!‘. Some people would see this error on their page and instantly freak out, but to answer the question on everyone’s mind, no, this wasn’t due to some sort of technical glitch. It was all my own doing, and for good reason of course.

I started this blog in 2016, back when I was a little psychology undergraduate student. With the continuous assignments after assignments, which I didn’t complain about – I’ve always been a lover of studying (weird!), I wanted to write about more than just ethics and the psychology of ageing, or social development. That’s when A Daily Dose of Holly began and I threw myself into it, writing about everything and anything. It was my own little haven.

I was quite fortunate, and after not long I was getting contacted by brands, big and small asking ME to review products, sponsored posts, invitations to events. I couldn’t quite believe it, and it really excited me, the thought of my little blog having potential and individuals wanting my honest opinion on the latest and greatest.

Shortly after, I went self-hosted, bought my own domain, purchased my theme from the wonderful Pipdig, and felt like the real MVP, but I soon couldn’t keep up with it all.

Looking back, I was a little naive, I said yes to every opportunity not realising that actually, maybe it didn’t fit my ‘niche’. I mean, there was one time I wrote about microwaves? Are you okay Holly? A lot of what goes around online is that ‘bloggers do it for the freebies‘ but this wasn’t the case, I enjoyed reviewing and sharing my thoughts to all those on the big wide web that I said yes to everything. I still do love the above, I’m just more selective when it comes to being contacted and what I agree to.

As you can see, all my posts have gone….not for good though (I’m not that brave). I reverted them to drafts as I couldn’t bring myself to completely get rid of content and memories that took several nights of working on. I wanted a fresh start so that I can begin to fall in love again with something I enjoyed so much over the years.

Now that I’m that little bit more maturer and adult’ing to the max, I’ll soon be sharing what I get up to in life, or what I’ve gotten up to in life – as there’s many trips I’ve taken recently that I’d like to share. The fine print though…my domain is a little bit contradicting. A DAILY Dose of Holly? I definitely cannot promise that, as like everything, life gets in the way and if I leave you lovely readers hanging a little bit, maybe it will keep you keen? No, is that not a thing these days?

Anyway, if you’re knew to my page, HELLO, or if you’re ‘loyal babe‘ and have been with me for quite some time but forgotten who I am, then you can find out more about me here.

Thanks for taking me back and here’s to writing about what I want to write about and sharing the parts that make me ME, Holly.
