Well it’s officially February and with January passing by in a whirlwind that only means that Valentine’s Day is fast approaching. So for all you loved up people out there or if you’re the type of person who likes to treat yourself (which I say you should do regularly) then this is a little post to give you some gift ideas. Some are edible, some more personal, and some are just things I’ve just come across and took a liking to. Although it appears that these items are aimed towards girls, however there are a few that you and your partner can share together. Some might be within your budget, others might be a little bit above it, but I hope you enjoy this post regardless.
Everyone loves chocolate, whether in a box or as a bar so you can’t go wrong with chocolate on Valentine’s Day. This bar of Dark Raspberry Chocolate by Prestat costs only £3 and as well as how tasty it sounds, I really like the presentation of the bar with the little flamingos all over it. At this price it could always be a little extra if you’re getting him/her a selection of gifts. You can purchase this online from the Natural History Museum here.
If you know someone who loves carrying a notebook on the go, whether for organising their busy schedule, taking down lecture notes or just because they enjoy scribbling down every now and again, then how about a Valentines personalised notebook from Urban Cottage Industries. These are priced at £18.24 (including VAT and delivery) and you can get the notebook personalised simply by entering the text you want where indicated on the website and placing your order. As well as this they come in a variety of colours: light blue, royal blue, new pink and berry, so you can purchase this notebook in your other half’s favourite colour. You can order them here.
Do you and your other half enjoy a little tea or coffee in the morning before starting off the day? Then these mugs can be the ideal duo for you both. They’re from Moojoe gifts who are an online wonderland for quirky, vintage-inspired items at great prices meaning that you’ll never be breaking the bank. With one mug stating “Good morning gorgeous” and the other “good morning handsome” these are a gift you can both share and bond over. Everyone loves a cheesy little good morning message so why not have one with your hot beverage every morning. Each mug costs £7.50 and comes in a gift box, they can be purchased here (for the gorgeous mug) and here (for the handsome mug). You can also check out the other Valentines products that Moojoe gifts have to offer on their site.
Although only one is displayed in the picture above, the heart-shaped coffee spoon comes in a set of four. These are by Miriam Mirri for ALESSI (the Italian Factory of Design) costing£19.95. These would make a nice extra to go with your coffee or tea making skills only further guaranteeing that each hot drink will be made with love (I know, I’m rather cheesy). They can be purchased here.
Another product from the lovely Moojoe gifts is the theatre style light box, something that pretty much every single person I know owns and yes I had to jump on the bandwagon and try one of them out. These can be hung on the wall or sit nicely on a desk with 86 letters, numbers and symbols to choose from, so you’ll never be lost for words. I was so excited when I received the light box, pondering over what custom message to pick and trying to find the letters and symbols from the 86 to choose from for my message. This only costs £15 so an absolute bargain in my eyes, especially compared to some of the other prices I’ve seen online for them. You could buy that special someone this as a gift, and to be even cuter you could leave them a little personalised message for when they open it, I’m 100% certain that would go down a treat. Overall this light box is a great size and requires 6 AA batteries, and although it is a LIGHT box it looks just as good with the light off than it does on (I included pictures of the lightbox both on and off to give you a feel). One thing I need to note about MooJoe gifts is their presentation, this product came wrapped in Valentine Style wrapping paper, which adds a nice little touch to the gift so don’t miss out on this. Check out the light box and the rest of their Valentines Day products here.
This is one of my personal favourites, the World Scratch Map. These are being sold everywhere online and I can totally understand why. This is a really cute idea that would win anyone’s heart over. The idea of this map is that whenever you visit a country for the first time you scratch it off on the map. My boyfriend bought me this for Christmas, so I think this is a really touching idea for any couples out there who love going on adventures to keep track of each place they visit by scratching it off on the map. This costs £20 and can be purchased online from The Natural History Museum shop here. You can also follow them on Twitter: @shop_at_NHM and Instragram: @shop_at_nhm.
WELOVECUSHIONS are a small specialist cushion company that bring a wide range of well priced art cushions. With designs by many different names you’ll never be short of choice. For Valentines Day this year they’ve kindly brought us a lovely selection of love inspired cushions to spruce up your home, as well as allowing you to feel love all year round. Above are some of this fantastic range and I was kindly sent the pale blue pillow with the word LOVE boldly displayed across the cushion. This 45x45cm cushion was designed by Ella Lancaster and costs £34.99 (including free UK delivery). My first impression was the colours, I loved the contrast between the pale blue and the bright pink print of the writing, it’s such a simple design but looks really good. The cushion itself is so comfy, and the material feels so luxurious, such high quality so you know you are getting what you pay for with this product. Girls love home decor and keeping their bedroom cute (well I try but I can be a bit messy), so why not purchase one of these cushions that are part of their Valentine’s range. Mines sure does look great prepped up on my big bed so it would look good on yours too. A lot of the cushions from their range caught my eye with unique designs, and pretty colours so there’d be one to suit everyone. This is a company that I’d purchase from in the future as you are guaranteed quality and comfort. You can check out their Valentine’s range here.
To sum up this post I just have to include some candles by Tangy Melon. I’ve spoken about Tangy Melon before in my Winter Candles post, check it out here. Tangy Melon are a candle company that are a personal favourite of mine so it wouldn’t be right if I didn’t include them in this post. I’ve chose two of their candles which are ideal for giving to that special someone: 1. Passionfruit and Melon, and 2. Jasmine and Champagne Rose. My favourite thing about these candles, asides from the smell, are the quotes on the tin. Firstly, the passionfruit and melon candle has “You are one in a melon” displayed on the front, who wouldn’t love this? The second candle, jasmine and champagne rose has “Forget the butterflies, I feel the whole damn zoo when I’m with you” displayed on the front, and I think this is such a sweet little phrase, I’d gladly accept a candle that had this on it. These candles are priced at £9.99 and are a real catch with their cheesy one liners boldly displayed on the tin, you can purchase them over here.
Well that was just some gift ideas to help you out, I know myself that I struggle really badly when it comes to buying someone a gift. I’ll happily buy myself something but when it comes to buying another individual a gift, I instantly lose all knowledge of what they like and always seek help from others, so I hope this helps. If you have any gift ideas then please do leave a comment below.
